
Microsoft has released Microsoft Virtual Earth /Virtual Earth Silverlight Map Control community technology preview (CTP) which supports animation, video and vector graphs and add realistic 3D looks at the earth, Virtual Earth 3D is the next generation mapping.
With Microsoft Virtual Earth you can search, browse, and organize local information viewed in 3D (three dimensions).
Microsoft Virtual Earth supported on mobile, you can expand rooftop views, bird’s eye views, and 3d imagery.

- New Virtual Earth Web Services - offers static map images, direct map tile access, one-box search functionality, geocoding, reverse geocoding, and routing.
- Pushpin Clustering – Enable zoom in to visualize a cluster of points.
- Landmark-Based Routing – Get improved directions in North America using familiar landmarks.
- Traffic Reports – Avoid traffic jams by analyzing traffic reports that interact with the Microsoft Virtual Earth.
- GeoRSS Feeds – Import shapes, pushpins, and polylines with GeoRSS feeds.
- Weather Integration – get real-time weather and cloud formation data.
