They should have pre-loaded Windows 7 Starter edition as opposed to Home Premium edition on this Laptop.
1. Make a Windows 7 Recovery Boot CD
2. Delete the ‘back up’ partition (since 3 primary partitions are the maximum allowed) and resize the Windows partition using GParted on a Linux live CD
3. Reboot and run the Win7 recovery CD ‘Repair your computer’ option
4. Create a 1.5 GB Linux swap and 11 GB ext4 “‘/” partition using GParted
5. Reboot and install Pinguy OS or Linux Mint onto the “‘/” partition
6. Admire how snappy the system is and how 1080p MKV video files now play flawlessy!
